Creative Breaks Workshop www.creativebreaksworkshop.comCreative Breaks Workshop is an approved Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Professional Development Workshop for Teachers. Teachers can receive 1 CPDU for every hour of participation in the workshop. My workshop series will focus on Design, Music, Theatre, Arts Biz and Creative Breaks. Creative Breaks are listed on the the website as an example of the events that a teacher can receive the credits. As a certified teacher I can invite teachers to learn about Chicago arts, artists, venues, attend music workshops, music events which include interviews, meet the CEOs of a business, and give teachers ideas for grant writing projects for their classroom. As a winner of three prestigious grants from the Chicago Foundation for Education www.cfegrants.org in the past and being able to assist teachers in finding creative breaks in their day, teachers will be able to model what they've learned from the workshops they've attended. It's a fun way to learn about Chicago and explore the many opportunities here for education through the arts, yet bring arts into their schools on a consistent basis. I've successfully taught for over 28 years and since retiring from the classroom, know what teachers need--a creative break! My mentors at the Chicago International Children's Film Festival are Kathleen Beckman, Festival Operations Manager, and Founder/Professional Development Provider Nicole Dreiske. Pandorie Productions features the best of music, theatre, arts, and music plus film education. I've served on the film juries since 1998 and this year as a teacher volunteer with the film festival.
